Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

The Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is one of the CAS institutes began to enroll postgraduate students from 1980. The management and education of all postgraduate students of KIZ are under the authority of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS).

At present, the institute is authorized to grant doctoral degree in four majors: zoology, genetics, cell biology and neurobiology. As of December 2013, 330 students are studying at KIZ, including 145 doctoral candidates and 185 master’s degree candidates, as well as eight foreign students, from Algeria, Bangladesh, Canada, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan and Vietnam, are studying as PhD candidates at KIZ.

KIZ currently has 30 doctoral supervisors, among whom is a Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Third World Academy of Sciences. General Scholarships for Graduate Students

UCAS offers both full scholarship and partial scholarship may be granted. Full scholarship includes tuition, housing and a moderate living stipend. 2014 CAS-TWAS President's Fellowship Programme for PhD Candidates from Developing Countries

Applicants, willing to apply the fellowship in 2014, please submit the required documents to kizphd@mail.kiz.ac.cn before January 22, 2014. After pass the pre-review by KIZ, the application materials with the acceptance letter of KIZ will be submitted to UCAS directly from the institute administrative office.
