KIZ is comprised of 32 different scientific research groups divided between the State Key Laboratory of Genetic Resources and Evolution (GRE), the Key Laboratory of Animal Models and Human Disease Mechanisms (AMHD), and a further three provincial laboratories. Each research group is headed by Principal Investigators with international experience that regularly publish high-quality research and have been recognized for their scientific contributions. Among these groups, KIZ also has 330 postgraduate students, roughly 40% of which are doctoral candidates.
Supporting the research groups, KIZ has a further 413 staff distributed throughout supporting departments, scientific platforms, and different research facilities. A complete guide of KIZ’s additional departments and facilities can be found on our background and organization pages.
