With the support of the former CAS member, Prof. SHI Li-Ming, Kunming Cell Bank of Type Culture Collection（CAS）was founded in 1986, affiliating the State Key Laboratory of Genetic Resources and Evolution. The Kunming Cell Bank, renowned by its long history, large scale and rich collection, is the top wild animal cell bank in China.
