The research conducted at the KIZ has received recognition from many levels of achievements in scientific research including: 3 international awards, 3 national awards, 49 Provincial and/or Ministerial awards and 6 other awards. The institute has also twice received Second Prize and once Third Prize of the National Natural Science Award (NNSA). In the Contribution Award of Yunnan Government, the institute has received first prize 12 times, second prize 17, and third prize 19 at the provincial level. The number of patents has increased ten fold over the past ten years, which includes 94 items of patent pending and 32 items of patent approved.
