Hans-Jürgen Bandelt is an appointed professor of mathematics at the University of Hamburg since 1990. As a renowned scholar in human mitochondrial DNA research, Prof. Hans-Jürgen Bandelt has made lots of important progresses in the systematic rebuilt of human mitochondrial DNA, the historical trace of human evolution and the data quality control of mitochondrial DNA. He has published over 200 articles on many peer-reviewed journals, such as, Science, American Journal of Human Genetics, PNAS, Genome Research, Trends in Genetics, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Genetics, etc., and the overall citations are over 12,000.
