A famous Chinese American photographer, Mr. Dong Lin shared an academic report named ‘Natural history and Human narrative photography’ on Jan., 14th, 2011, under the invitation of Prof. Yang Junxing, PI of Phylogenetics and Biogeography group.
At the beginning of this lecture, Mr. Dong Lin introduced what is natural history and human narrative photography, and pointed out their relationship under a coexistence time of traditional photography and digital photography. In terms of how to use aperture and shutter, control the depth of field and balance, select the topic and color composition, and form one’s special narrative style, Mr. Dong Lin explained these by combination of his world-wide photographing experiences, and then displayed some of his classic photo works. The participants have been able to experience his bitter and exciting feelings in the process of photographing, under his popular and easy to understand lecture. At the question time, actively, participants discussed many problems occurring in their realistic photographing. It has believed that this lecture would bring many gains to the shutterbugs attended.
Many photographers from KIZ and other universities took part in this academic report. One thing deserved to be mentioned here is Mr. Wu Jialin, a Chinese famous documentary photographer, was also occurring in this report. Mr. Wu Jialin is called as ‘an international master of photography’, respected as the first Chinese photographer who win the prize of ‘Mother Jones documentary photography award’ and other awards.
