Invited by Professor Ce-Shi Chen of AMHD (Key Laboratory of Animal Models and Human Disease Mechanisms, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Dr. Ming Tan from University of South Alabama presented an academic seminar in Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in the morning of May 30. The title of his presentation was “Regulation of cellular metabolism by oncogenic ErbB2 in cancer cells”. Focusing on ErbB2 and cellular metabolism in breast cancer, Dr. Tan introduced their research progresses on the molecular regulation of ErbB2 pathway, the effect of ErbB2 on mitochondrial function and glycolysis, targeting ErbB2 and glycolysis to treat breast cancer. He put forward a new view on cancer therapy.
The seminar attracted many professors and students of KIZ. After the presentation, Prof. Xu-Dong Zhao and many students joined in the enthusiastic discussion with Dr. Tan on the presented and related topics.
