In recent years, based on DNA bio-information, Kunming Institute of Zoology has made impressive progress on the research of human genetics and evolution. These academic results play important roles in explaining the mysteries of mankind evolutionary history, probing the genetic background of diseases, analyzing the susceptible populations and eventually controlling, preventing certain human diseases. To popularize science and let public to better understand the scientists’ efforts, the Kunming Natural Museum of History has arranged the special exhibition – “Evolution of Human”.
“Evolution of Human” section, the new highlight of Kunming Natural Museum of History, takes time line as the clue, emphasizes on cultural and genetic diversities, with the help of pictures and specimen models, vividly narrates the story of mankind origin, evolution and migration. This exhibition features the skulls collection of late Miocene ancient ape, Australopithecus, Archaic Homo sapiens, Late Homo sapiens and Homo erectus, with the complement of the evolutionary tree in the museum’s hall, visitors can get the whole picture of animal evolution history.
