Graduated from Peking University, majored in bio-information, Dr. ZHANG Yong has the postdoctoral fellow research experience in genetics of Chicago University from 2007 to 2009. 2009-2011, he was the bioinformatics scientist of Chicago University. 2011,Dr. ZHANG set up his our lab in Institute of Zoology, the CAS, and his research is mainly focusing on the gene gain and loss in evolution and the functions of lineage-specific new genes. To date, Dr. ZHANG has published many academic articles on the peer-reviewed journals, like PLoS Biol., Genome Res., Nucleic Acids Res., Bioinformatics, BMC Evol., Biol., and BMC Genomics.
