At the invitation of Dr. Yongbin CHEN of the Key Laboratory of Animal Models and Human Disease Mechanisms, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AMHD), Dr.Yingzi YANG, investigator of National Institutes of Health (NIH), paid a visit to the Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on July 6, 2012.
Dr. YANG delivered an insightful lecture on “Wnt Signaling in Development and Disease”, in which she elaborated how affection of the Wnt Signaling Pathway relates to normal developmental processes and adult diseases. She continued with a detailed discussion on the GαS signaling pathway in bone development and disease, and revealed that GαS led to the Hedgehog signaling pathway activation.
The workshop was widely attended by numerous Principal Investigators from the AMHD, including Dr. Yongtang ZHENG, Dr. Ceshi CHEN, Dr. Jumin ZHOU, Dr. Ping ZHENG, Dr. Bing LIANG, and Dr. Xudong ZHAO as well as a number of postgraduate students from KIZ. After the presentation, Dr. YANG invited the students and members of the audience to join an enthusiastic discussion and exchange their ideas on her current research.
