On August 8, nearly 200 students across 11 subjects and research groups attended the annual graduate conference of the Key Laboratory of Animal Models and Human Disease Mechanisms (AMHD) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Yunnan Province. Students, staff and visiting researchers were greeted with presentations by12 students presented papers as well as 52 posters on display, with professors from various groups of the Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ) on hand to provide criticism and feedback.
Alongside attendees from Kunming, a delegation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) also attended, including Professor Chan Wai-Yee, the Dean of School of Biomedical Sciences, CUHK and Hong Kong Director of KIZ/CUHK Joint Laboratory of Bioresources and Molecular Research in Common Diseases (hereinafter referred to as the KIZ/CUHK Joint Laboratory), Deputy Dean Professor Chan Wood Yee, and former director of KIZ/CUHK Joint Laboratory Professor Tam Siu Cheung Michael.
Judges included KIZ's Deputy Director Professor Yao Yong-Gang, Director of AMHD Professor Xu Lin, Deputy director of AMHD Professor Zheng Yong-Tang, and professors from CUHK, Chan Wai-Yee and Chan Wood Yee, who handed out three awards for presentations and two for posters.
