Dr. Yaping Zhang and Dr. Qingpeng Kong won a second place prize for natural sciences during the National Science awards for their work on genomic diversity and Asiatic peoples. The news was announced on January 9, 2015, at the National Science and Technology Awards Conference, after which Bai Chunli issued the following congratulatory letter.
