ZHENG Ping was recently, awarded the prestigious Wang Kuancheng Award for her outstanding contribution to science. ZHENG Ping leads the Mammalian Embryonic Development research group at the Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (KIZ, CAS).

Since the Wang Kuancheng award was developed by CAS in 1987, over 60 scholars across China have been honored for their achievements, but only seven of these were currently working in western China. Alongside ZHENG’s impressive work, receipt of this award by a western scholar also highlights ongoing efforts by KIZ and CAS to make Yunnan a recognized hub for scientific research and development.
