Paradoxornis zappeyi (Muscicapidae, Passeriformes) was first recorded in Yunnan during the joint expedition to Dashanbao Nature Reserve by Bird group of Kunming Institute of Zoology, CAS and Dashanbao Nature Reserve Management Burea. It is an endemic species, whose range is restricted in SC Sichuan and NW Guizhou. This species is fairly rare and Vulnerable in IUCN Red List. The basic informations about it, such as habitat, food and feeding, are poorly understood. Our findings would shed new light on the conservation and research of this species.
