Mucosa is the body’s first barrier with the outside world. People alway take a large number of alcohol, pepper and other stimuli, or long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic drugs (such as aspirin), that can cause stomach pain, diarrhea and mouth sores and other symptoms of the disease. That is because the gastrointestinal mucosal hurt. Vertebrates are widely distributed in the epithelial system, and closely related to gastrointestinal mucosal injury. It play an important role. It has been proved that the trefoil factor-deficient mice have a high incidence of gastric cancer, loss of intestinal mucosal repair, resulting in inflammation, diarrhea until the crisis of life. It has been twenty years since it is found that the trefoil factor can reveal the molecular mechanisms..

Chinese Academy of Sciences and Kunming Institute of Zoology, led by Dr. Zhang Yong  found that the use of amphibian trefoil factor biological activity can activate platelet characteristics. On this basis, they have induced cell migration and mucosal repair mechanisms of cellular and molecular biology.

The results help us understande how the human mucous membrane work, and produced drug discovery and design of a scientific basis.
