Philipp Khaitovich is a biologist by education. He did his undergraduate studies at the Moscow State University and received his Ph.D. Degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999.
He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany in the group of Prof. Svante Paabo. He joined the Partner Institute for Computational Biology in September 2006 as an independent group leader.
His main research interests are: molecular mechanisms of human cognitive evolution and mechanisms of lifespan regulation.
