Rong Liu, Ph.D. Dr. Liu was recipient of K.C. Wong Education Foundation Award, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2012), the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, Natural Science Foundation of China (2014), “Excellent Young Scientist”, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2014).She got supports from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Yunnan Applied Basic Research Key Projects, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. We are interested in understanding the development of breast cancer and focusing on finding new diagnostic and therapeutic targets of breast cancers.

Research Interest

We are focusing on exploring the function of transcription factor KLF5, microRNA-153, etc. in breast cancer and stem cell maintenance using multiple models, such as cell models, patient-derived xenograft models, transgenic mouse models. Based on understanding the roles of these genes in breast cancer development, we will further screening small molecular drugs to target these genes to find more potential anti-cancer drugs for breast cancer treatment.
